
Ingredients:
- 1 block medium firm tofu
- 1/3 cup pickle brine
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast flakes
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
Directions:
- Put a package of medium firm tofu in the freezer overnight
- Take the tofu out of the freezer and put in the refrigerator to thaw
- When the tofu has completely thawed out, put in the freezer again
- Take the tofu out of the freezer and put in the refrigerator to thaw
- When tofu has thawed, take out of package
- Press the tofu for 30 minutes
- Shred the tofu into chunks
- Bake the tofu at 425 degrees for 10-15 minutes
- Add the pickle brine to a bowl
- Add the brown sugar, nutritional yeast flakes, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper, kosher salt
- Mix well
- Take the tofu out of the oven
- Dredge the tofu pieces in the marinade
- Bake the tofu at 350 degrees for 10 minutes
- Serve hot
