Episode 160: Vegan Corn Dogs

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp rapid-rise yeast
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup lukewarm soy milk
  • 1 package vegan hot dogs
  • 1 block vegan cheese
  • Coating of your choice (frozen diced potatoes, granulated sugar or crushed hot Cheetos)

Special equipment:

  • corn dog sticks or skewers
  • deep-fryer (optional, but recommended)

Directions:

  • Mix flour, yeast, sugar, salt, and soy milk together
  • Let mixture sit for 30 minutes
  • Cut a vegan corn dog in half
  • Cut out an equal-sized piece of vegan cheese
  • Skewer them together
  • Roll in the batter until completely coated
  • If you want a potato dog, roll the corn dog in a bowl of frozen diced potatoes
  • Deep fry until golden brown
  • You may dust the corn dog with granulated sugar or crushed hot Cheetos
  • Serve hot
