Episode 166: Flour Tortillas

Ingredients:

  • 1 & 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup olive oil

Special equipment:

  • Stand mixer (optional)
  • Tortilla press (optional)

Directions:

  • Mix all ingredients together
  • Knead until you get a soft dough
  • Let the dough rest for 15 minutes
  • Roll into two-inch balls
  • Flatten slightly
  • Cook in the tortilla press for 30 seconds
  • Alternatively, roll the balls into thin circles and cook in a skillet over medium heat on both sides
  • Serve hot with the toppings of your choice
