Episode 119: Instant Pot Bread

Special equipment:

  • Instant Pot

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon yeast
  • ¼ cup lukewarm water
  • 2 cups of flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup water

Directions:

  • Add yeast to ¼ cup lukewarm water
  • Stir well and allow to sit for 5 minutes
  • Add flour, salt, and yeast mixture to a mixing bowl
  • Slowly add 1 cup water and mix well
  • When you get a soft dough, put in another bowl  and cover with plastic wrap
  • Place the bowl in the instant pot
  • Set the instant pot on “yogurt” setting for 1 and ½ hours
  • Put the bowl in a refrigerator overnight
  • Remove the plastic wrap 
  • Put a trivet in the instant pot and 1 cup of water
  • Place the bowl in the instant pot
  • Score the bread
  • Loosely cover the bowl with some foil
  • Set the instant pot on “pressure cook high” for 45 minutes
  • Broil the bread for about 15-20 minutes
  • Serve hot
