Episode 115: Vegan Hawaiian Rolls

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup cane sugar
  • 1/3 cup melted coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup water
  • ½ cup pineapple juice
  • 1/8 cup soy milk

Directions:

  • Add bread flour, salt, cane, sugar, and melted coconut oil to mixing bowl
  • Mix active dry yeast with 1/4 cup water in a small bowl
  • Add the slurry to the mixing bowl
  • Add pineapple juice and soy milk
  • Knead until you get a soft dough
  • Allow the dough to rest for 2 hours
  • Roll out golfbal-sized balls from the dough
  • Let the dough balls proof for half an hour
  • Mix some maple syrup with a little soymilk in a small bowl
  • Brush the dough with the maple syrup glaze
  • Let the ball proof for another half hour
  • Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes
  • Serve hot
