Episode 161: Vegan versus Regular Cookies

Ingredients:

  • Vegan cookies:
    • 1 cup flour
    • 1/8 tsp salt
    • 2 tsp vanilla powder
    • 1/2 cup brown sugar
    • 1/2 tsp baking powder
    • 1/4 cup apple sauce
    • 1/4 cup coconut oil
    • 1 cup vegan chocolate chips
  • Regular cookies
    • 1/4 cup brown sugar
    • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
    • 3/4 stick of butter1 egg
    • 1 & 1/2 tsp vanilla powder
    • 1/2 tsp baking powder
    • 1/4 tsp salt
    • 1 cup flour
    • 1 cup chocolate chips

Special equipment:

  • Electric mixer (optional, but recommended for regular cookies)

Directions:

  • Vegan cookies
    • Mix together all ingredients except chocolate chips
    • Add chocolate chips and mix well
    • Drop by spoonful onto a a well-0iled baking dish
    • Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes
    • Allow to cool for at least 10 minutes before serving
  • Regular cookies
    • Use electric mixer to fold the sugars and butter together
    • Beat the egg and add to mixture
    • Mix well
    • Add vanilla powder, salt, and baking powder
    • Mix well
    • Slowly mix in the flour
    • Mix in the chocolate chips
    • Drop by spoonful onto a well-oiled baking dish
    • Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes
    • Allow to cool for at least 10 minutes before serving
