Episode 65: Ezekiel 4:9 Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup spelt
  • 1 cup millet
  • 1 cup pearled barley
  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup black beans
  • 1/2 cup red lentils
  • 1 tablespoon active-dry yeast
  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

Special equipment:

  • Food chopper
  • Small blending device
  • Stand mixer

Directions:

  • Soak the beans and lentils in water for at least 6 hours
  • Grind the barley and millet
  • Mix all the ingredients together until you get a dough
  • Place the dough in a well-oiled bowl and cover with a damp cloth
  • Let the dough rest for one hour
  • Shape the dough into a loaf and let it rest for another half hour
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes
  • Let cool on a rack
  • Cut into slices and serve with jam or your favorite spread
