Episode 57: Berry Jam

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup frozen berries
  • 1/2 cup soy milk
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • Agave

Special equipment:

  • Magic Bullet (or equivalent blending device)

Directions:

  • Blend berries and soy milk for several seconds until you get a rough mixture
  • Put a pon on the stove over medium heat
  • Add mixture
  • Spread mixture around evenly and lower heat to a simmer
  • Simmer for 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally
  • Add some agave to sweeten the jam, if desired
  • Add chia seeds and mix well
  • Remove jam from heat
  • Allow jam to cool for at least 10 minutes
  • Refrigerate jam for several hours before serving
  • Serve as a spread over bread or pastry
