Episode 53: Vegan BBQ

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup wheat gluten
  • 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast flakes
  • ½ cup vegetable broth
  • 5 drop of liquid smoke
  • Celery, chopped into 4 inch pieces
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon BBQ spice
  • 1 bottle of your favorite brand of BBQ sauce

Directions:

  • Add the wheat gluten to a bowl
  • Add the nutritional yeast flakes, garlic powder, BBQ spice, and garlic powder
  • Mix well
  • Add the vegetable broth and liquid smoke
  • Mix well until you get a soft dough
  • Tear off pieces of the dough and wrap around each celery stick
  • The celery stick acts like the “bones” of the BBQ
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes
  • Take the BBQ out and brush on some BBQ sauce
  • Bake for another 5-10 minutes
  • Serve hot with even  more BBQ sauce
